Learning in Action grants
The Learning in Action Grant program funds innovative, creative, and student-centered experiences or curriculum extensions that enhance and enrich learning and/or build understanding and background knowledge to serve as the foundation for increased learning. Each grant is up to $500 and is awarded in four cycles. (Grant winners are announced approximately 7-10 days after the end of each cycle.)

IMPact grants
The Impact Grant program supports initiatives that foster meaningful connections between schools, families, and the community by funding projects that promote inclusivity, enhance family engagement, and create opportunities for diverse community participation in educational activities. Each grant is up to $5,000 and is awarded on an ongoing basis.
Take flight grants
The Take Flight Grant program promotes innovative and creative student engagement opportunities that contribute to the advancement of academic excellence by supporting students and student organizations at Perry Meridian High School and Southport High School with targeted funding for projects that will have an impact on student learning, community involvement, and overall educational growth. Each grant is up to $500 and is awarded on an ongoing basis.

Crosser Memorial Scholarship, James Wilson Memorial Scholarship, and Quinton Lord Scholarship celebrate the dedication and passion these individuals had for learning. These scholarships provide students with the opportunity to pursue their educational dreams and carry forward the spirit of these remarkable individuals. Richard H Crosser Memorial Scholarship
The Richard H. Crosser Memorial Scholarship is available to Indiana high school seniors. You must be from a school in Decatur, Franklin, Lawrence, Perry, Pike, Warren, or Wayne Township or from Hamilton Southeastern High School, Noblesville High School, or the Westfield Washington schools. You must also have at least a 2.5 GPA and plan to complete a two- or four-year program at an accredited institution in Indiana. You must plan to study structural engineering, architecture, building trades, drafting, business, finance, accounting or another field related to the building trades to be eligible for this award.
Quinton Lord Memorial Scholarship
Quinton loved his time at Perry and was involved in a variety of activities. He was a member of the Varsity Swimming, Tennis, and Volleyball teams, participated in the Mr. Falcon competition, and was active in Crew Link, Blue Crew, and various volunteer programs. Quinton was comfortable in a variety of settings, and helping others feel included was very important to him. Regardless of the group, his outgoing personality always shined through. Quinton later went on to graduate from Indiana University, obtaining a Master’s Degree in Information Science with a GPA of 3.9.

James Wilson Memorial Scholarship
As a thirty-three year Perry Township educator, Jim Wilson encouraged countless numbers of children to believe in themselves and reach their full potential. He believed in education and the ability of children to learn. He taught with humor, talent, and creativity, while teaching self-respect and respect for others. He believed in the American Dream because he lived it. Orphaned at twelve, he worked part-time jobs to contribute to one of his sisters and her family while he finished high school. He declined a journalism scholarship because he wanted to teach, so he came to live with another sister and her family while he worked his way through Indiana Central College. As his family’s first male graduate, Jim worked with determination to complete three college degrees and his administration license. He met his wife, Sharon, also a Perry Township teacher, while attending college and they shared their love of education and community involvement. Their two sons, Chris and Scott, were Eagle Scouts, honor students, and graduates of Wabash College. Jim served as ScoutMaster, Little League Coach, Missionary Project Leader, Fraternity Parent Leader, and dedicated member of the University Heights United Methodist Church. He was named “National Outstanding Teacher of the Year” through the Valley Forge Freedom Foundation in 1976 and received the Sagamore of the Wabash award in 2007 from Governor Mitch Daniels. He developed a math curriculum which was used nationwide and created discipline management techniques. These scholarships are given by his wife, Sharon, and their sons: Chris and Scott, in Jim’s memory.
Criteria: Minimum 2.5 GPA; need, work during High School, and if possible, a student who attended Mary Bryan Elementary School.
PTEF Endowments
Mary W. and Lawrence M. Borst Endowment Fund
The Borst Fund is a directed, endowed fund provided annually to Perry Township elementary schools. Mary and Lawrence were career teachers, and the Fund was created to memorialize their passion and commitment to education.
Callon Endowment for Relationship Building and Development
The Perry Township Education Foundation provides support in the area of building and developing a sense of community with internal and external constituencies. This opportunity is available within the Middle Schools to build on the legacy left by George F. Callon, thanks to the generosity of his family, friends, and former teachers, staff members, and colleagues.
